Bourne Leisure claims to have become the first company to gain a place in the ‘Sunday Times Top Twenty Best Big Companies to work for’ in its first participating year.

The Butlins, Haven and Warner Leisure Hotels parent company was the only company from the Hospitality and Leisure Sector to have made the top 20, taking 15th position.

There were 868 companies competing for the accolade from across the UK.

Bourne Leisure took third place in the Well Being in the workplace category and eighth place in the Leadership poll, with Bourne Leisure’s employees claiming to be inspired by the leaders of the company.

The awards were determined by levels of employee satisfaction and employees’ attitude towards their employer.

Head of retail sales Allan Lambert said: “We are ecstatic at having achieved 15th place in the prestigious Sunday Times awards scheme, particularly as we were competing against over 800 other companies!

“Our position in this poll is as a result of our ongoing dedication to staff training, support and employee incentives across our three brands. Having gained this impressive position in 2008, Bourne Leisure will continue to invest time, money and resources in its staff and strive to further improve its results for next year’s Awards.”

Bourne Leisure employs 16,000 people in the peak of the summer with a permanent staff of around 8,000.
