British Airways’ first Starlink connected flight takes off
British Airways’ first Starlink-enabled journey has taken flight.
The flight, with Starlink Wi-Fi connectivity, has landed in Houston, Texas.
It is installed on a refitted Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
The connection offers fast and stable internet access with speeds of 500 Mbps, capable of streaming content.
British Airways plans to install Starlink tech on its entire 300-aircraft fleet over the next two years.
It is a key part of BA’s £7 billion transformation programme.
“Launching Starlink on both long-haul and short-haul aircraft is game-changing for us and our customers,” said Sean Doyle, CEO of British Airways.
The deal with Starlink includes other IAG airlines Aer Lingus, Iberia, LEVEL, and Vueling, spanning about 500 aircraft.
