British boy drowns on holiday in Spain
A four-year-old British boy has drowned in a swimming pool on the Costa del Sol.
Reports say the boy fell into the pool at a property at the Mijas Golf Resort in Las Lagunas, Milas at about 9pm on Sunday evening while his parents were having dinner with friends inside the accommodation.
A local authority spokesman said 20 people were at the property at the time and the youngster, who could not swim, was playing with older children when the accident happened.
A 15-year-old boy raised the alarm but the four-year-old could not be revived.
The Foreign Office has confirmed a British national died on August 16 in Spain and is assisting the family with repatriation.
