British stags sentenced to jail and caning in Singapore
Three British holidaymakers have been sentenced to jail and caning in Singapore for having sex with a drunk and unconscious woman.
The three men, all in their early 20s, had flown to Singapore last year with a group of friends for a stag party. They also attended a music festival.
One of their friends met a Malaysian woman at a nightclub and she agreed to have sex with him in his hotel room, but when she later passed out the three men took turns to have sex with her.
Initially charged with rape, the three men were found guilty this week of a lesser charge of aggravated outrage of modesty and wrongful restraint of a woman.
They were given sentences of up to six-and-a-half years in prison and eight strokes of the cane.
