British tourist in life-saving op after fight in Magaluf club
A British holidaymaker is in a critical condition in a Magaluf hospital after being glassed in the neck during a fight in one of the town’s nightclubs.
Sarah-Anne Garrity, aged 22, is in intensive care following a life-saving operation.
British solider, Sydney Cole, a 19-year-old friend of Garrity’s, has been arrested and appeared before a judge in Magaluf.
The attack happened at around 1am at Banana’s on the popular Magaluf strip. Both women are understood to be serving in the British army.
Reports said it was not immediately clear if the casualty was glassed with a broken bottle or was hurt when a glass was thrown at her, although sources said they believed she suffered a cut throat after a glass was thrown. She was admitted to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma.
