Budapest Airport hails best summer ever
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport had its busiest summer ever.
It also had an exceptional autumn, with an average of 1.8 million monthly passengers.
December marks a significant milestone in the 75-year history of the airport with passenger traffic already reaching 19 million passengers.
This was achieved on 9 December.
The 19 millionth passenger was honoured by Visit Hungary as he boarded a SAS flight.
“Hungary’s growing appeal, our airline development strategy and VINCI Airports’ extensive partner network are all essential components of the dynamic passenger growth,” said Francois Berisot, CEO of Budapest Airport.
Olivér Csendes, the CEO of Visit Hungary, added: “Budapest Airport’s latest record clearly shows that conscious developments and Visit Hungary’s campaigns are achieving tangible results.”
