Business and leisure travel up at Disney property
Both business and leisure travel are up at the Swan and Dolphin hotels at Walt Disney World, says Erik Berger, general manager.
“Group business has also been very strong. We think there’s a lot of pent-up demand and the economy has also improved over the past couple of years,” he told TravelMole. He expects increased bookings to continue for the immediate future.
The two striking hotels, which resemble a giant swan and a giant dolphin, have a total of 2258 rooms between them. About two thirds of their business is convention related.
We accommodate meetings as small as ten rooms or others that take almost all of our rooms,” said Mr Berger.
The two hotels are in the heart of Disney, a short walk from the popular Boardwalk, where there’s lively night time entertainment.
The hotels also offer the advantages of Disney properties that include access to characters, theme parties, and free transportation by boat or other means.
The two properties also offer 17 food and beverage outlets between them.
Mr Berger said a new $90 million expansion added two restaurants and went for refurbishing of rooms.
“But our most popular new amenity is the Westin Heavenly beds. We get more positive comments about that then any other feature of our guestrooms,” said Mr Berger.
