A series of half-day induction sessions for travel management staff in supervisory roles are to be run by the Guild of Travel Management Companies.

The training is for those wishing to complete the Supervisory Certificate in Business Travel and will take place on the morning and afternoon of 19th September 19 and 20 at the GTMC offices in central London.

The course is a self-study programme with a half-day induction, two further training days and a one-day revision course. Students sit a formal examination in June 2006.

Covering the topics of travel geography, foreign exchange, supervisory skills, business practice and business administration, successful students receive the Supervisory Certificate in Business Travel and may use the designatory letters SCBT.

GMTC general manager John Williams said: “Training is one of the most important investments that any company can make in its staff.

“This GTMC qualification, which is recognised by City & Guilds, ensures that staff in supervisory levels or those shortly to move into such positions will feel confident in performing the tasks and the responsibilities that supervisory positions demand”.

The course costs £775 plus VAT per person.
