CAA pulls bond of failed operator
Tour operator Onshine, which also traded as Sunsplash Vacations, offering holidays to Cyprus and Spain, has collapsed.
The Civil Aviation Authority has called the ATOL bond of the London-based firm after it ceased trading.
The bond of £161,500 will be used to repatriate and refund Onshine customers but those with advance bookings will not be able to travel.
The CAA said that any customers on inclusive air packages who are currently abroad should be able to continue their holidays but they should contact the authority on 020 7453 6350 for guidance.
Passengers who have made advance air package bookings will not be able to travel and should not go to their departure airports. They will be able to claim a refund from the ATOL bond if they paid by any means other than by credit card.
Those who paid by credit card should contact their credit card issuer for a refund, under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, the CAA said.
ATOL claim forms are available on the ATOL website at www.atol.org.uk.
