Caribbean and Latin American air travel statistics soar

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) have announced that member airlines passenger traffic saw a significant spike in July.
 
 Member airlines carried 13.9 passengers in July, up 9.0 % from July, 2011.
 
The number of passengers carried year-to-date increased 6.4% versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 85.1 million passengers. 
 
Airlines reporting statistics include: Aerolíneas Argentinas (includes Austral), Aeromexico, Avianca, Copa Airlines, GOL, LAN Group, TACA Group, TAM, TAM Mercosur and Volaris
