Carnival passenger dies after falling from balcony
Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed the death of a passenger after a fall from a ninth deck balcony on Carnival Horizon.
The man’s body was found on the fifth deck.
The accident took place as Carnival Horizon was returning to PortMiami after calls at Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Mexico.
The identity of the passenger has not been released. It’s also not yet known whether authorities have determined a cause for the fall.
Law enforcement is still investigating.
Carnival said the male passenger was pronounced dead before a trauma helicopter arrived to airlift him to hospital.
"Our Care Team continues to provide support to the guest’s family and we co-operated with the standard law enforcement investigation when the ship arrived to PortMiami," the cruise line said.
