Cathay Pacific cutting flights to New York
Cathay Pacific is once again cutting capacity to the US.
It is ditching more than half of its current capacity to New York starting from October. 25.
The current 25 flights a week to New York JFK will shrink to just 11 flights a week.
The airline will continue to offer daily flights to Newark.
In addition, service to San Francisco and Washington Dulles will be downsized with smaller aircraft.
It is the airline’s latest response to shore up its bottom line as Hong Kong protests continue to affect travel demand.
Cathay also recently announced the upcoming end of first class on its Chicago route, effective June 1 as it pulls Boeing 777s and replaces them with new Airbus A350-1000 jets.
