Cebu Pacific launching Tokyo, Hong Kong flights in March
Budget carrier Cebu Pacific will add two new international routes from provincial airports to help ease congestion at its Manila hub.
The carrier will start flights from Cebu to Tokyo Narita and Kalibo International Airport to Hong Kong in March.
Service to Tokyo will operate four times a week while Hong Kong flights run three times a week.
The Kalibo-Hong Kong route is a first with no competing carriers on this route, and is expected to boost international tourism to the popular holiday isle of Boracay.
The airline has not yet intimated whether the service will be seasonal or year-round.
Cebu Pacific also offers seasonal charter flights from Kalibo to Chongqing, Guangzhou, Seoul-Incheon, and Shanghai-Pudong.
Both routes will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
