Celebrity back in Australia, NZ
Royal Caribbean Cruises is bringing a third superliner to Australia and New Zealand for the 2011/12 summer cruise season.
The move will mark the return of the premium cruise line Celebrity Cruises to Australia after a two-year gap and will see three ships from Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (RCCL) based in Australasia.
Celebrity Century will make her debut in Australasian waters in November 2011.
She will be joined by Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas (returning for her fifth season) and Radiance of the Seas (her maiden Australasian deployment) – effectively tripling RCCL capacity in the region.
Gavin Smith, managing director, Royal Caribbean Cruises Australia, said the addition of a third ship is largely in response to Australians’ increasing appetite for cruising.
