Celestyal Cruises extends cancellations
Celestyal Cruises has extended the suspension of its sailings until July 30 due to the ongoing travel disruption and temporary port closures within Greece and the wider Mediterranean where the line operates.
Although Greece is planning to gradually recommence its tourism industry, no cruise ships are currently allowed to land at its ports.
The cruise line said it will continue to monitor the phased opening of Greece to international tourists while working closely with the Greek authorities on the development of enhanced healthy and safety protocols.
Chief commercial officer Leslie Peden said: "We apologise to our valued guests for the inconvenience this further temporary suspension will cause. I’m confident they understand that we take into consideration all aspects that will ensure the well-being of our guests and crew.
"It’s encouraging to see that Greece is prudently commencing it’s reopening for international tourism in a phased manner following the country’s globally acclaimed best-practice handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the time is right, we look forward to recommencing our operations and welcoming guests back onboard."
Celestyal Cruises is offering a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) of 120% of the original booking value, which can be redeemed by December 2021 for any cruise up to the end of 2022.
Guests who choose not to redeem their FCC by end of December 2021, will automatically receive a full refund equal to the original amount paid to Celestyal upon the voucher’s expiry.
The cruise line said the vouchers will automatically be sent to guests or their travel agents.
