Cendant, Gullivers sign agreement
Cendant Corporation announced a multi-year agreement with Gullivers Travel Associates.
The new agreement has two separate ingredients. The first is an alliance between Cendant’s Travel Distribution Services Division and OctopusTravel.com to distribute negotiated hotel inventory.
That part of the agreement will allow OctopusTravel.com to double the negotiated rate inventory that Cendant provides to its customers through its online distribution channels Lodging.com and CheapTickets.com. The resulting 30,000 worldwide properties create the largest industry offering of net rate inventory in the US, according to Cendant.
With the second agreement, Gullivers forms a distribution relationship with Cendant’s Hotel Group, which includes more than 6,500 properties representing nine major hotel brands.
In addition to the new distribution partnerships, Gullivers has signed on to connect to Cendant’s Travel Distribution Services JumpStart Web Services. Through Jumpstart’s Web-based point of entry, Gullivers will be able to access hotel inventory allocations to power its global w wholesale and retail network.
