Cheapflights launches in Canada
Cheapflights has launched a site in Canada as part of its strategy to go global within the next five years.
The flight price comparison website has launched www.cheapflights.ca to tap into the Canadian market.
It believes Canada is “ideal for the Cheapflights product because of price competition caused by charter flights, price discounting and low-cost airlines”.
Vice chairman and head of international, Hugo Burge, said: “With our significant successful growth in the USA, in addition to our leadership in our home market of the UK, now is the time to expand further into Canada as part of our global expansion strategy.
“It has been most encouraging to see our existing partners embrace our international ambitions and work with us by developing multi-national business relationships.”
Cheapflights.ca says it already receives more than 100,000 visitors every month on its holding site in Canada.
The Canadian website initially offers a limited set of features, including a booking engine, hot deals section and extensive flights tips information.
Advertising partners already include WestJet, Sears Travel, Flight Network, British Airways, Expedia.ca and Travelocity.ca.
