Checking out hotel kiosks
The latest in the trend towards hotel self-service kiosks: Embassy Suites and Hyatt.
Embassy Suites Hotels says is will have the kiosks in 75% of its hotels by year-end, and in all of its hotels in June of 2006.
Hilton says it is adding self check kiosks to more than 100 of its lobbies in Hyatt Regency and Grand Hyatt hotels in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Hilton says the move came after a successful six-month trial period.
“Customers expect quick, easy check-in and checkout processes,” said Gary Dollens, vice president of product and design for Hyatt.
In many cases, he said, guests can check out or check in within one minute.
Embassy Suites says its research shows that more than 90% of guests will use the new kiosks.
