China Airlines offers Taipei transit incentives

Taiwan’s China Airlines has enhanced its transit programme for business and leisure passengers by offering boutique accommodation and a free city tour of Taipei.

“We want to make the transit stay as comfortable as possible,” said Jim Wong, sales manager, China Airlines, Sydney.

“Why should transit passengers wait around the terminal when they can enjoy a complimentary stay at the airport-located hotel and see Taipei on a free tour,” he added.

For example, Sydney passengers connecting with the China Airlines Taipei/Vancouver flight are in transit for much of the day, he said.

Flight CI 052 departs Sydney at 2200 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with a 0540 arrival the next morning.

With the China Airlines transit programme a hotel shuttle will transfer transit passengers to the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport Hotel where they can rest for the remainder of the morning.

If passengers wish to join complimentary morning or afternoon tours they can reserve a place on the coach at the Taiwan Tourism Service Desk in the airport arrival lobby, Wong said.

The free morning guided tour offered by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau visits the Yingge Pottery Village, Yingge Ceramics Museum and the Sanxia and Zushi Temples southwest of Taipei before returning to the airport around 1300.
