China Eastern crash remains a mystery
China’s Civil Aviation Administration said the black boxes of the China Eastern Airlines jet that crashed last month were badly damaged.
The black box data available has not shed light on the cause of the accident.
They were ‘seriously damaged due to impact,’ the preliminary report said.
Pilots were highly experienced, and the weather was clear, the CAAC said.
Prior to the accident, there were no communications that caused concern to air traffic control.
There was no report of any fault before the flight and the jet was well maintained.
The report did not identify a cause which remains a mystery.
China Eastern had said the captain and co-pilots were not under suspicion.
The plane crashed near Wuzhou shortly after losing contact with air traffic control.
All 132 people on board were killed.
