China sustainable tourism forum announced
Call for abstracts of submissions
The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the SHTM and the College of Tourism, Hainan University, have announced the Seventh China Tourism forum to be held on 23-25 October 2011 in Haikou, Hainan province, China.
The forum will provide an interactive platform for tourism policy makers, industry experts, academics, researchers and postgraduates to discuss tourism development in China, to identify factors shaping tourism trends, to examine the industry’s need for human resources, and to share insights and research outcomes about China and Hainan.
The 7th China Tourism Forum will take the theme "Tourism and Sustainable Development".
The forum organisers are looking for the submission of abstracts covering a wide range of areas, including:
- International branding of destinations
- Inbound/outbound industry
- Tourism and economic growth
- Socio-economic impacts of tourism
- Sustainable tourism development
- Tourism marketing and consumer behaviour
- Competition issues in tourism industry
- E-tourism and distribution channels
- Heritage and cultural tourism
- Nature-based tourism
- Chinese culinary art and gastronomy
- New methods in tourism research
- Ethics, legal issues and tourism
- Corporate social responsibility in tourism
