China tourists trapped in city lockdown
Over 2,000 tourists have been caught in a city-wide lockdown in China.
A spike in coronavirus cases in Beihai, Guangxi region led to mass testing of 1.9m residents.
It recorded more than 450 infections in the five days.
The coastal city, a popular tourist destination, only reopened in June after a two-month lockdown.
Beihai’s local government has now said tourists who have not had contact with anyone who tested positive for the virus, or visited any medium or high-risk areas, are allowed to leave if they test negative.
All others must remain in the city under quarantine.
