CIMTIG names new president
Richard Carrick will be the next president of The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Travel Industry Group (CIMTIG).
He takes over in March from the current president, TUI’s Dermot Blastland.
Carrick was previously CEO of Hoseasons, where he led a successful buy and sell of Hoseasons Holidays, and a board director of MyTravel.
He has also held marketing positions at ILG, Saga Holidays, Airtours and Forte Hotels and Resorts.
"Although the discipline of marketing resides at the heart of the travel industry, it still doesn’t get the investment, attention or credit that it should," said Carrick.
"I firmly believe that as the UK comes out of recession, travel companies will rely heavily on the expertise of their marketing teams to give them a competitive edge and that CIMTIG can assist greatly in that process."
