CLIA appoints trade relations VP
Cruise Lines International Association has named Charles Sylvia as vice president of trade relations.
Sylvia will take over March 2 and will work directly with travel agencies to enhance CLIA member engagement and retention.
Silvia is a former travel agent and will be primary liaison for CLIA’s Diamond and Gold Premium travel agency members which comprise the larger host agencies and trade relations managers at CLIA member cruise lines.
He will report to Cindy D’Aoust, executive vice president, membership and operations.
Sylvia has more than 20 years of experience in cruise marketing and sales and held management roles at Boston meetings and events agency Access TCA.
He was also heavily involved in developing corporate events at sea with CLIA member cruise lines.
"Charlie will be a strong addition to the CLIA team. He has an extensive understanding of the travel agent and agency community as well as the cruise industry," said D’Aoust.
"Charlie’s primary focus will be to act as a liaison and ensure all travel agents maximize their CLIA membership, and his first 90 days will be focused on meeting and engaging with our key travel agency and agent partners."
