CLIA exec joining MSC
CLIA’s senior vice president of technical and regulatory affairs, Bud Darr is leaving to take up a lobbying role with MSC Group.
Darr has been named MSC’s executive vice president, maritime policy and government affairs.
"Bud has been with CLIA for over six years and has been instrumental in helping build a solid foundation of knowledge, support and respect for the cruise industry in the areas of technical and regulatory affairs," said Cindy D’Aoust, CLIA’s president and CEO.
Darr joined CLIA in 2010 initially as director of environmental and health programs.
He is a former attorney and US Coast Guard official.
Darr leaves on July 1 to take up the global role at MSC which includes cargo operations as well as cruising.
He is tasked with helping to develop a central government affairs function at its Geneva headquarters.
