Climb a mountain and take a safari
The World Outdoors announced its line-up for 2005, which includes a dozen new programs that meet what the company calls its “demanding standards for fun, adventure and quality.”
For almost 20 years, the Boulder-based company has been offering off-the-beaten path adventures. It says it has one of the industry’s strongest offerings of active vacations in the western US.
Typical US trips include exploring George Armstrong Custer’s 1874 Black Hills itinerary on foot, bicycle and horseback in a multi-sport adventure.
Other trips include kayaking through tundra-clad mountains and tidewater glaciers.
The Glacier Bay Adventure Cruise is a small-ship cruise exploring Alaska’s wilderness by kayak and foot.
While many trips feature the western US, the company also has adventure trips to other countries such as Ireland, China and Africa.
One trip offers two combined African experiences: a climb to the 19,344-foot Kilimanjaro, and a wildlife safari to Africa’s most celebrated game country, the Serengeti Plain.
