Department – Convention and Exhibition

Responsibilities:

** Manager all aspects of meetings, ensuring excellent customer service whilst maintaining and exceeding revenue budgets.

** Manage food and beverage costs and ensure profit margins are met and exceeded.

** Work with Meeting Services Director to aid in development of operating policies, procedures and service standards; establish major schedules and task assignments; allocate manpower and equipment. Comply with operational objectives.

** Work with Meeting Services Director to develop and establish meeting schedule and establish effective communication methods with all concerned departments.

** Ensure meeting set ups are done in a timely fashion according to customer requirements.

** Manage and coordinate sufficient supply of meeting inventory at all times

** Provide administrative direction to managers by applying technical knowledge in the implementation and execution of the planned programs for all meeting groups.

** Manage personnel functions for Meeting Services – included but not limited to recruitment, promotions, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, grievances and vacations.

** Advance the Mission, Values and Vision of the Convention and Exhibition department.

Requirements:

** High School Degree, College Degree in Hospitality.

** 5 years experience in international hospitality operations in similar role.

** Positive experience in large scale meeting and conference management.

** Knowledgeable and proficient in Windows, Excel and Word.

** Possess a service mentality suitable for guest services and event marketing.

** Possess good ability to network effectively with external agencies.

** Have qualified organizational skills to manage several tasks at once.

** Communicate clearly on concepts and ideas.

** Have a pleasant personality

** Write reports and business correspondence.

** Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, customers and the general public.

** Read, write, speak and understand English and minimum of one additional language.

** Get along with fellow Team Members and work as a team.

** Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

** Have a well groomed, professional appearance.
