Conference replaces CTO roadshows

The Caribbean Tourism organisation is dropping annual trade roadshows in favour of an agents’ training conference.

Two groups of up to 200 agents will attend the ‘Courses for the Caribbean’ event at Aston University in Birmingham on September 5-7.

They will learn about the Caribbean during an intensive one-day residential seminar and attend a party. The agents will be split into groups from the north and south.

CTO UK and Europe marketing director Julian Hendry said: “The new format will mean a more effective use of everyone’s time, with a clear divide between the fun of the party and a day devoted to business.

“As the agents will stay on the university campus and the seminars will be held in lecture rooms, we envisage a more focussed learning experience encompassing all aspects of this diverse region.”
