Consultant leaves after 53 years with Thomas Cook
Thomas Cook has said a fond farewell to a 74-year-old employee who has retired after 53 years with the group.
Marion Goulding joined the company in 1960, aged 21, and worked at its store in Church Street, Liverpool, the oldest Thomas Cook store still in existence.
Goulding, who worked on foreign exchange, counted her currencies and packed up her desk for the last time this week.
Branch colleagues held a party to celebrate her retirement and said she will be greatly missed.
"Marion has been saying that she’s going to retire for the last few years – but every time her annual review comes around she says she’ll give it one more year!" said brand manager Louise Shelbourne.
"More than 50 years of service is an incredible achievement and we will all miss her greatly, but I think she’s earned a bit of a rest!"
