Contiki USA names new president
Global tour operator Contiki has announced the appointment of Adam Cooper as president of Contiki USA.
Prior to joining The Travel Corporation owned Contiki, Cooper was North America SVP for student and youth specialist STA Travel, where he began his career as a travel advisor.
"Adam joins Contiki and the TTC family of brands because his predecessor, Melissa da Silva has recently been promoted to sister brand Trafalgar as its new president," said Richard Launder, president of TTC USA.
"He has joined both Melissa and me in the TTC office in Anaheim, CA and already his enthusiasm and passion are shining through to the team."
Cooper said: "I am thrilled to join an organization with whom I’ve worked so closely in the past that shares my conviction and which has for more than 50 years worked to instill a lifelong curiosity for what lies beyond home."
Meanwhile the 18-35 operator will start selling sister company Uniworld’s new Millennial focused cruise product.
U by Uniworld is rolling out river cruises aimed at younger customers which will be available to book via the Contiki website.
"We are confident that with Contiki’s deep understanding of this demographic, and Uniworld’s position as the world’s most renowned river cruising line, we are poised to deliver a unique and exciting travel experience for young people," said Casper Urhammer, global CEO of Contiki.
