Costa Rica removes PCR Covid test requirement for tourists

Tuesday, 27 Oct, 2020 0

Costa Rica no longer requires travelers to produce a negative PCR Covid-19 test to enter.

No test is required but inbound travelers must have travel medical insurance covering Covid-19 and complete the Health Pass epidemiological form.

An insurance policy must cover Covid-19 medical expenses of at least $50,000.

Tourists are not required to quarantine.

Beginning 1 November, travelers from all US states and all countries will be able to visit.

"This decision is made in view of the air opening to all international countries and that the Pan American Health Organization considers it unnecessary to demand tests or order quarantines for the resumption of international travel," said Tourism Minister Gustavo Segura.

"I reiterate my call to companies in the tourism sector to continue with the commitment to apply prevention protocols in a very comprehensive manner and to national and international tourists to practice tourism responsibly."
