Crew member caught smuggling cocaine at New York JFK
An airline crew member has been busted for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine through New York’s JFK Airport.
Fly Jamaica Airways crew member Hugh Hall was caught with cocaine worth about $160,000 strapped to his body.
The Jamaican national arrived at JFK on March 17 on a Fly Jamaica Airways flight from Montego Bay.
US Customs and Border Protection said he allegedly had at leastt nine pounds of cocaine taped around his legs.
"This seizure is another example of our CBP officers being ever vigilant in protecting the United States from the distribution of illicit drugs," Acting Director of CBP’s New York Field Operations Leon Hayward said.
Hall was arrested for the importation of a controlled substance and faces federal narcotics smuggling charges.
