Crowne Plaza first brand to offer Tesla charging at all Australasia hotels
InterContinental Hotels Group owned Crowne Plaza Hotels has achieved a milestone by becoming the first brand to install Tesla Destination Chargers at all of its properties in Australasia.
It cover 13 properties in all, from Western Australia to New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, along with Crowne Plaza hotels in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown in New Zealand.
Other hotels with Tesla chargers include Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, Crowne Plaza Newcastle, Crowne Plaza Melbourne, Crowne Plaza Canberra, and Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise.
"Tackling climate change is a global challenge and IHG puts the environment right at the heart of how we operate. Installing Tesla Destination Chargers further supports our local commitment to sustainability and innovation," said Leanne Harwood, IHG’s managing director for Australasia & Japan.
"As electric cars gain in popularity in Australia it also gives us an opportunity to be innovative and cater to guests who drive them."
Each hotel has two chargers, and most locations can deliver between 40km and 80km of range per hour,
Tesla owners can plug in and top up while enjoying hotel amenities event spaces or staying overnight.
