Cruise line brochure issued three months early

Tuesday, 18 Mar, 2010 0

A stand-alone preview Norway brochure for 2011 has been published by cruise line Hurtigruten three months earlier than last year.

Early booking discounts of up to 20% apply until September 30 plus a further 10% repeater bonus for agents to promote to any customers who have booked a Hurtigruten voyage in the last three years.

The 20% saving is offered off all ships excluding two newest vessels, MS Midnatsol and MS Trollfjord where a 10% saving is available.

Overall prices for next year lead in at £505 per person for a voyage south along the Norwegian coast on a cruise-only basis.

To assist agents, all prices in the brochure are shown with the relevant early booking offer discount and then the full brochure price for bookings made after September 30.

Hurtigruten is also offering five per cent off pre-booked excursions. Unlike other years, this discount will apply no matter how many excursions are booked. Previously it only applied when three or more were booked.

In addition, passengers receive free entry to the Hurtigruten museum in Stokmarknes and a complimentary guide book.

The launch comes as the company claims that demand for Norway voyages is up 25% year on year.

UK sales and marketing director Kathryn Beadle said: “We are currently experiencing growth on our Norway product and were keen to get our 2011 programme on sale as soon as possible to allow agents to start selling it and capitalise on the current demand.

“Our figures show that cruise nights have increased substantially on last year which would indicate that more people are choosing the longer trips such as the Classic Round Voyage.

“The longer journeys tend to be booked further in advance and we hope that bringing out this preview brochure in March, three months earlier than last year, will provide agents with the information they need to start their marketing and drive sales for next year.”

The Early Booking Offer provides savings of up to 20% against products including the Classic Round Voyage and the shorter half voyages. Applicable on bookings made by 30 September 2010,

Hurtigruten are also offering a 10% repeater discount for all passengers that have travelled with them in the last three years and stayed a minimum of three nights on board.
