Disney is enhancing facilities on its 1,000-acre private island in the Bahamas for passengers on its cruise line.

More water-based activities, 20 new private cabanas and an extended beach for families are being introduced at Castaway Cay.

The new island amenities are due to be complete by summer 2010, in time for five-night cruises by the ship Disney Wonder with two stops at Castaway Cay, and the new Disney Dream which starts sailing in early 2011.

Disney Cruise Line sails to Castaway Cay on all itineraries from Port Canaveral in Florida.
