National Trust members are to be introduced to cruising as part of a new partnership between Swan Hellenic, Voyages of Discovery and Hebridean Island Cruises.
The operators have teamed up to produce a summer 2011 brochure with the Trust which has been sent out to its 3.7 million members along with the autumn edition of the National Trust magazine.
Trust members will get a loyalty discount and the organisation will get a percentage of each booking.
The mini-brochure features Trust-recommended cruises which include tours of some of Britain’s most historic properties.
Other destinations offered include The Baltic, Iceland and The Black Sea and all the ships featured are of the smaller, more intimate variety.
All Discovery Cruising sales and marketing director Geoff Lawrence said: “We are delighted to be working with The National Trust, a British charity with a similar ethos of discovery, heritage and learning.
“There is a close synergy between our loyal passengers and the Trust’s members and we feel that our unique brand of discovery cruising will complement the Trust’s current holiday choices.
“With a choice of three different styles of cruising, our discovery cruises will enable passengers to learn about the history of each port of call as well as visiting National Trust places along the way.”
