Cruise ship sinks on Amazon
A 12-suite Amazon River ship has sunk, with four crew members missing.
No passengers were on board at the time of the incident, on Saturday, as the ship was on turnaround.
Passengers scheduled to depart Saturday on the Aqua Amazon have been reassigned to the Aria Amazon and other ships, the company said.
Aqua Expeditions released a statement saying: "An accident occurred that caused an explosion and resulted in the sinking of the ship.
" Four crew members were missing, said Aqua Expeditions, and others were injured. No passengers were aboard.
"The investigation is ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
"All efforts are being made to get a better understanding of the status of the missing crew.
"The entire operations team is on the ground providing logistical support with local emergency services."
The Aqua Amazon was based at Iquitos, Peru.
