Danes target UK for short breaks
The Danish Tourist Board is launching an £8m scheme to promote short breaks from the UK.
International Marketing for Oresund will attempt to market the region of Seeland, which includes Copenhagen and southern Sweden.
Danish Tourist Board marketing development manager Karim Nielson said: “This is one of the biggest schemes the tourist board has ever been involved in and we aim to open up a new region to the UK market.”
Golf packages and themed short-breaks such as shopping and Christmas trips will also be part of the scheme.
UK operators like Bridge Travel are thought to be keen to work with the DTB and the packages will be launched over the next few months.
Meanwhile, Legoland Bilund will be launching an initiative to encourage business travellers to use the park for conferences, training and meetings.
