Data breach causes chaos for Sunwing Airlines
Canadian travelers remain stranded in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America due to a data breach affecting Sunwing Airlines flights. The airline is still checking in passengers manually. It has grounded flights and caused long delays.
The systems of third-party service provider Airline Choice were breached this week. Sunwing is using other airlines, including WestJet, AirTransat, and Nolinor Aviation, to help with the backlog at some airports.
Sunwing is offering disrupted customers free changes for flights scheduled until April 22.
