Deadline for new e-Visas to Turkey extended

Monday, 24 Feb, 2014 0

The deadline for visitors to Turkey getting an e-Visa has been extended until the end of the year.

ABTA has been negotiating with the Turkish authorities to extend the transition period since the new e-Visa application process for Turkish visas was announced earlier this year.

As a result, holidaymakers can now get Turkish visas on-line or at the port of entry until 31 December 2014, using interactive kiosks.

ABTA said: "We are pleased to advise that today we have received official confirmation from the attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey that the transition period of the e-visa process has been extended until 31 December 2014.

"This means that during the transition period from now until 31 December 2014, Turkish visas can be obtained both online (via www.evisa.gov.tr/en) and at the port of entry.

"Visitors arriving in Turkey without an e-Visa will be able to obtain them via interactive kiosks located at Turkish airports until this deadline."
