Delta apologises for not acting on passenger’s pro-Trump tirade

Delta Air Lines issued a public apology for failing to boot a passenger from a flight who went on a bizarre foul-mouthed pro-Trump rant.

The airline apparently failed to intervene during the rant which was caught on video.

The incident happened as the plane was sat at Atlanta preparing for take-off to Allentown, PA.

"We are sorry to our customers who experienced this disruption. We have followed up with the teams involved and all agree that this customer should not have been allowed to continue on the flight," Delta said in a statement.

"Our responsibility for ensuring all customers feel safe and comfortable with Delta includes requiring civil behavior from everyone. The behavior we see in this video does not square with our training or culture and follow up will continue so we can better ensure our employees will know they will be fully supported to make the right decisions when these issues arise."

Pennsylvania native Emma Baum posted the video on Facebook and told the unidentified man she was going to record him.

He replied: "Go ahead! I want to tell everyone about Trump. I hope it goes viral!"

It certainly has. It has garnered more than two million views so far.

After the rant the man was briefly taken out of the cabin but allowed to return.
