Delta expands transatlantic network
Delta Air Lines is to serve Dubai and increase frequency on its new Gatwick- New York route next year.
The carrier will serve Dubai from its Atlanta hub together with new routes to Prague and Vienna from next May.
The Gatwick-New York route will see frequency doubled to two flights a day from April 1, 2007.
The carrier will also start flights from New York to Shannon, replacing one-stop flights via Dublin; Pisa and Bucharest next summer.
The planned expansion will give Delta more transatlantic operations than any other US carrier, covering 36 destinations.
The airline is to switch seven Boeing 767-400 aircraft to its international fleet to fuel the expansion.
