Delta goes international from Austin with new Cancun service

Friday, 04 Apr, 2025 0

Delta Air Lines is expanding its presence in Texas.

It is adding Austin-Bergstrom Airport to its international network.

This winter, Delta will operate a first international service from AUS to vacation playground Cancun, Mexico.

This daily, seasonal service will begin shortly before Christmas on December 20 and will run until mid-April 2026.

“Delta operates nearly 60 peak day departures this winter. This new service to Cancun adds yet another popular leisure destination for our Austin customers,” said Paul Baldoni, Delta’s SVP of Network Planning. ”

This flight will operate on Delta’s Airbus A320 aircraft equipped with First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.

In addition to new Cancun flights, Delta will also increase service between Austin and Orlando to twice daily during the peak winter travel season.

This now offers Austin customers both morning and afternoon flight options.

Recently, new twice daily service to New Orleans and daily service to Panama City, Florida started.

Delta also recently announced new upcoming service to Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Memphis beginning in May 2025 and to San Francisco and Tampa in June.

With these additional routes, Delta’s departures at AUS will be up more than 35% year-over-year.

Delta has positioned Austin as a key gateway  to facilitate connections across its domestic network with nonstop flights to all of Delta’s major hubs.

This gives customers from the Austin region just one connection or less away from destinations across the globe.
