Denied boarding lawsuit filed against American Airlines

They say timing is everything.

Hot on the heels of the United Airlines overbooking fiasco, a South Korean pastor has filed a lawsuit against American Airlines alleging racism for bumping him off a flight.

Benny Shin filed a lawsuit against AA just hours after lawyers representing David Dao announced likely legal action against United.

Shin was booked to flight from Dallas to Corpus Christi in June 2016 but was blocked from boarding the flight by a gate agent, TMZ reports.

In the filing ‘5-7 white passengers behind him’ were allowed on the flight.

He was given a voucher for a flight the next day but Shin claims he was singled out for his race.

It left him feeling humiliated and embarrassed, and plans to sue the carrier for at least $6 million.

American Airlines has not yet given an official response to the lawsuit.
