Disney plans reveal possible fifth Florida park
Speculation is heating up about the possibility of a fifth theme park at Walt Disney World.
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District released planning documents submitted by Disney.
These documents reveal tentative plans for a potential ‘major theme park’ as well as ‘minor’ parks and new hotels, dining and shopping.
It also details a possible new golf course.
The last new standalone park was Animal Kingdom three decades ago.
The new proposed developments cover 2,629 acres with a major park to take up about 500 acres.
The initial plans do not confirm a new park will definitely proceed but details the possible options Disney is considering for the future over the next 20 years.
Lat year, Florida paved the way for additional investment of around $17 billion in Orlando for existing park enhancements, new hotels and the option of new parks.
Already confirmed additions include a Monsters Inc. land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and a Disney Villains Land is coming at Magic Kingdom
