DMC Protours Chile aiming to capture attention in Asia Pacific market
TravelMole.tv spoke with Jens Haussermann, managing director of Protours Chile recently at ITB Asia about the company’s plans to promote the country and its travel products to the Asia Pacific market.
Protours is a 20-year old incoming tour operator and a travel agency with offices located throughout Chile and Jens Haussermann says a stand-alone holiday to Chile is still a hard sell for the Asian market.
"Asian travelers are perhaps not quite ready for holidays in a single country such as Chile but in combination with other South American highlights such as Machu Pichu in Peru, Brazil and Argentina for example," Hausserman said.
"On average Asian travelers tend to spend 4-5 days specifically in Chile on a multi-country combination tour."
This is the company’s first appearance at ITB Asia and Hausserman has seen most interest from local tour operators keen to promote Chile packages for both retail and wholesale.
