E-Mail Marketing Hurdles
20 January 2004 by eMarketer

A Recent survey of marketing decision-makers at B2B and B2C companies finds that at least 60% of respondents cite spam, e-mail filters and e-mail inbox clutter as the biggest challenges they face in e-mail marketing efforts.

Over 50% say developing quality e-mail lists is the greatest challenge in the business today. The survey, sponsored by CMO Council, B2B Magazine and USA Today, asked respondents to provide their top three greatest e-mail challenges.

When marketers were asked how they would like to improve upon e-mail marketing efforts in the future, over one-half note better customer insight and integration of on- and offline marketing efforts.

Spam filters continue to be an issue for e-mail marketers, as Jupiter Research and EmailLabs determined in October 2003 that the biggest concern of e-mail marketers was blacklists or spam filters.
