Dubai to host 2008 WTTC summit
Next year’s World Travel and Tourism Council global travel and tourism summit is to be staged in Dubai.
The event will take place on April 20-22 at the UAE state which is rapidly expanding as a tourist destination.
WTTC chairman Geoffrey Kent (Abercrombie & Kent) said: “Dubai is the world’s leading example of a state that has successfully embraced travel and tourism as a catalyst for economic growth and prosperity.”
The organisation’s president Jean-Claude Baumgarten added: “Encourged by the WTTC’s signature ‘in the round’ format, the active participation of all delegates and the frank exchange of ideas from all over the world will influence decisions taken by industry leaders, assuring the long term and responsible view of travel and tourism.
“The summit in Dubai will provide the ideal platform to broadcast the unity of our leaders in ensuring a sustainable future.”
