EasyJet adding six routes at new Southend airport base
Leisure airline easyJet this week announced London Southend Airport will become its newest UK airport base.
The move will create over 100 new jobs and at least six new London Southend flight routes from summer 2025.
London Southend becomes the airline’s 10th UK airport base.
EasyJet plans to base three A320neo aircraft at the airport
The airline already flies to Amsterdam, Geneva, Faro, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and Paris CDG from the airport, which it has flown from since 2012.
“This move is indicative of the demand the east of London, Essex and the wider East Anglia region who now have greater opportunities,” said John Upton, CEO of London Southend Airport.
EasyJet opened its ninth UK base in March at Birmingham International.
The new Southend flight routes are to Pisa, Italy, Gran Canaria, Dalaman, Antalya, Marrakech and Enfidha, Tunisia.

Perhaps Corfu might come back on the list, the flights were always busy, and it was a great shame when they stopped.
