Elite Travel Conference on target for 100 agents
Around 80 agents have already signed up for The Elite Travel Group’s 30th Annual Conference in the Andalucian city of Jerez.
Chairman Neil Basnett said: “We are set to have our best attendance from our membership ever and it means that suppliers and operators will be talking to travel agents who sell their products and not to each other. We feel confident we will easily meet our target of 100 travel agent delegates.”
He said the event has attracted a number of potential new members.
“We are seeing many travel agents seeking stability and strength by joining the Elite Travel Group which has been around for 30 years and offers a large number of tangible benefits.
“The key to our travel group is what we can offer our members. Actions speak louder than words so throughout the conference all our members will be able to see the progress we have made as a group. We will be launching many new innovations including commission deals, computer technology and ATOL protected tailor made packaging.”
The event is hosted by the Spanish Tourist Office with The Cosmos Group as the headline sponsor.
Speakers include Jo Cameron, one of the stars of BBC 1 TV’s ‘The Apprentice’, who will be talking about competing in business and how she adapted after being ‘fired’ on the programme by Alan Sugar.
Other themes will be related to the industry and of course the outside influences including global warming and the government that effect the retail travel sector.
